Testimonials

Following are comments from some of the participants in our programs:

I truly enjoyed the 30-Hour Interest-Based Negotiation and Mediation Skills Training. It was a wonderful way to connect with other Collaborative professionals and practice communication and facilitation skills that are invaluable tools for Collaborative work. I learned a great deal about myself as both a person and as a professional and left the training feeling invigorated about my work. Many thanks to the trainers for their guidance and support!

In the bookInfluencer: The Power to Change Anything, the authors believe “People will attempt to change their behavior if
(1) They believe it will be worth it, and
(2) They can do what is required.”

In the 30 hours of interest-based negotiation training, the instructors provided both. If you weren’t convinced of the value of the Collaborative Process before you came, you were when the training was over. The professionals demonstrated over and over again throughout the week the profound value of CP. And due to the many opportunities attendees are given to participate in mock sessions, you leave knowing you can do what is needed in Collaborative Practice.

I just wanted to follow up with you on the Collaborative training and say “thanks”. It was a terrific experience for me and I left feeling enthusiastic about the possibilities of collaborative work. The trainers did a phenomenal job of explaining, modeling and offering trainees the opportunity to learn the necessary skills which resulted in building my confidence.

I completely enjoyed the training, found it very useful and interesting, and can’t wait to get started! Each of you brought a lot of energy and focus to the curriculum and sparked my curiosity and interest. I really appreciated how conscious you made it – by having us create goals for ourselves and give ourselves grades in advance, having us focus on what we wanted to take away, and by explaining the neuroscience underlying conflict. Although I “drank the Kool-Aid” before I got there, the more I learned about the practice of collaborative law during your presentations, the more I became convinced that this is the way I want to practice law. So thank you very much for the dynamic and powerful training!

I consider myself a tough-minded litigator, but this training forced me to question my default adversarial approach. The faculty seemed genuinely passionate about their work, and the participants quickly found themselves fully engaged in the experience. The energy and enthusiasm in the room were contagious. We walked through a case from start to finish, leaving no question unanswered, and I left with a solid understanding of the collaborative method and a desire to apply what I’d learned to my real-life cases. Even if you love “the fight,” you’ll learn valuable skills in this training. I highly recommend it.

I have had the pleasure of working with this team of Collaborative Professionals on a number of different training programs over the course of the last three years. They continually impress me with their professionalism, their enthusiasm for their work, and their dedication. These individuals are some of the most gifted public speakers that I work with, and they are a “team” in the true sense of the word. They work well together, they genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and they spend a great deal of time together in order to prepare for their presentations. Their organization and their preparation is obvious, as their programs are thoughtful, informative, and seamless. This team of professionals is a model for the rest of our seminar speakers. One attendee stated the following after she attended a 3-Day Multidisciplinary Collaborative Training conducted in March 2011 by CPTI in Annapolis, MD. The training was sponsored by the Maryland Administrative Offices of the Court with the goal of getting a large number of attorneys and judges trained in Collaborative practice. Over 115 professionals attended the training and were trained in two large groups by two teams of CPTI trainers.:

“The CPTI training was a mind-opening experience that gave me a completely different perspective on the practice of family law. The faculty is an impressive group of experienced professionals who are passionate about Collaborative practice and are able to present complex material in a logical, interactive, and easy to follow format. It was interesting to see how quickly the instructors managed to transform a room of sixty attorneys into a lively group of students eager to explore innovative concepts of collaborative law. I would certainly recommend this training to other professionals interested in learning about collaborative practice.”
